10 Important Rules Regarding Keyword Placement

Even though Google and other major search engines don’t pay attention to Meta Keyword Tags, it is still advisable to use them, although many people will advice you against them. Meta Tags will help you remember the keyword phrases you are optimizing the pages for especially when dealing with lots of web pages. When it comes to the META description tag, let the keyword phrase be as near the start of the sentence as possible and then make the tag a full sentence.

1.Never use italic or bold keyword phrases in your first sentence of a page, but you can put crucial keyword phrases in the first sentence but never the first word.

2.Use your keyword phrases in all your headings i.e. H1, H2, H3

3.Bold keyword phrases should start appearing in the second paragraph and Italics should appear a few times after your first usage of the particular keyword in question. As a rule of thumb, never allow the first usage of keyword phrases to be in Italics

4.Use keywords in ALT tags

5.It’s advisable to let other websites use your most important keyword phrase on your pages in the inbound links. While most websites will link to your home page, ensure you give them the main keyword phrase that you’re optimizing the home page for.

6.For internal linking i.e. from one page back to your home page, ensure your most important key phrase is used in the link and in the event that your homepage is linking to another page, use the keyword phrase in the link that your other page has been optimized for.

7.Putting keyword phrases on the left navigation panel will take you nowhere. Google in particular prefer keywords in full sentences, a full sentence in this case is defined as 3 or more words that start with a capital letter and end with a full stop or any other punctuation. However, words like “the,” “a,” “I,” “of” etc do not count as among the three words of a sentence.

8.To rank among the top websites, if not be the first website, your keyword relevancy is much more important than your page Rank. For instance, you can have a PageRank of 10 and still not show up anywhere in the top 100 websites when a web user searches for “peanut butter sandwiches”, unless your WebPages are already optimized and have high relevance for the keyword phrase.

9.To maximum results, use your keyword phrase in the H1, H2, or H3 headline and then immediately follow it with a keyword-rich paragraph, which you should then repeat using another H1, H2, or H3 headline and a keyword-rich paragraph, and the chain should continue.

10.Never try to optimize a single page for more than 2 or 3 keyword phrases and always aim to optimize the phrases not the keywords. This is because among other reasons, the keyword is included in the keyword phrase and the fact that many people wouldn’t go searching for a single word.

Search Engine OptimizationSearch engine optimization and positioning is so common nowadays that a lot of people are sent unsolicited search engine optimization proposals over the internet. There are a lot of search engine optimization consultants that try to sweet-talk companies and individuals into paying lots of money for search engine optimization with guaranteed results and submission to over 100,000 search engines and directories.

In search engine optimization, there are no urgent results or permanent top positions. There are in reality no warranties in SEO. There are no shortcuts either. Search engine optimization takes heavy work and fine tuning of contents. It also involves tons of patience as results do not come overnight.

Content is also crucial when it comes to search engine optimization. In fact, it is credibly the single most important thing for you to do in order to be found on the World Wide Web. A site that is technically seamless for search engine robots, it will not help you much unless you put in good contents.

Frames cause problem for the people who find your site through search engines. If somebody follows the link from a search result listing to a frame-based site, they will land in a document that is outside of its parent frameset. This will most likely produce confusion.

Most search engines do not place great importance on meta tags and meta descriptions anymore. They have been used way too much by spammers. However that does not mean you should omit it.

Check out your URLs. Make sure your domain name contains an main keyword. Also note important parts in search engine optimization have a right page title. This line of text (in the title tag) shows on the title bar of your browser when you’re looking at a web site and ideally, it should include your primary target keywords. Same goes for search engine optimization of headings. The heading tags of your pages (h1, h2, etc.) serve a dual purpose. They are very useful for search engine optimization.

SEO Copywriting

You may have heard the term SEO by now. It has become quite a common jargon for the Internet-savvy. SEO actually stands for “search engine optimization” or “search engine optimizer.” Numerous companies are now hiring search engine optimizers in order to promote their website and reach out to a wider market.

Many SEO consultants provide helpful and proven services for web owners. Their services involves a review and analysis of your live website contents and structure; extending technical advice on website development; content development; keyword mining and research; management of numerous online business development campaigns; and in-house SEO training.

Now let us concentrate on the content aspect of SEO. SEO copywriting is a technique of writing a text on the web page that allows the viewers and visitors to read it clearly, while targeting the prerequisites of search engine robots. The aim of search engine optimization copywriting is to make the website rank highly in search engines using the particular keywords. Copywriting also optimizes other on-page aspects such as Title, Description and Keywords tags, headings and alt text.

So what truly is the concept behind SEO copywriting? Search engines expect genuine content pages with relevant texts that are associated with certain keywords. It is created for the single intention of reaching high rankings. When it comes to SEO copywriting, it is recommended to have about 250 viewable words per page and strategically set keywords within the text. However, SEO copywriting functions for suitable websites and suitable search terms. It is also very important that the writer knows how to avoid the deadly sins of copywriting, with keyword stuffing on top of the list. With these elements, SEO copywriting can attain good results which can lead a website to have higher rankings across many popular search engines.

A page that is successfully optimized by copywriting however, has no warranties. There may be rivals with better SEO strategies. If your website keeps on sliding in the rankings, then SEO copywriting must be redone.

SEO Search Engine Optimization For Website Improvements

Web designers and SEO experts alike know just what it takes to complete a site, it does not stop at a good design and nice images and text, improving a website means much more. Understanding the basics of improving a web site lies with its popularity and performance, and search engine optimization is valuable to any website be it an online store or information site.

Sometimes search engines can ban a domain name for what is called spamming. This is when it contains far too many keywords (keyword stuffing) or key phrases, and when a black hat type of SEO has been carried out. Key words are highly important from a search engine point of view. Optimizing a website means starting at the beginning, and including key-words relevant to the business adds value and brings to the website the visitors it is targeting. In basic terms, website content should be built around those important key words, which can be expanded upon over time.

Focusing on main keywords and phrases, then expanding them by looking at reports easily available on the net, or by looking at competitors and words they are using, is imperative to setting up and preparing a site so that search engines are easily able to crawl the site without encountering problems. Confusion can be created with a site that has every page aimed at a different target audience. The density, or how many times a key word or phrase appears is hugely important, to avoid being banned by a search engine for ‘spamming’.

The major engines, such as Yahoo, Google and AOL, need to be able to visit a website and make evaluations in order for a person to find that site under a relevant search. Therefore, helping a site improve the way it ranks (and in a perfect world at least on page one of certain searches), SEO is a means of making a site more valuable and can reap good benefits for any business.

Keywords should usually be included, in the very least, in a page title, in the first and last sentence, headings on the page and in meta tags which are found in the page html or coding. In addition to this, the meta tags are important with the html itself needing to be neat and clean so that search engines find it easy to visit and evaluate a site. This is fairly basic optimization and should be the very least work done.

Alternative things that are also very important is that pages containing lots of text or very little, will mean a search engine will struggle to crawl that page. In addition to this, web pages built using or containing flash, java-script or frames will make it hard for a search engine too.

There are other things to consider in order to carry out the optimization process. It is equally important to manage the off site SEO too, which involves things like writing articles to get links back to the website from other relevant and good quality popular sites. Registering with smaller search engines and submitting the domain or specific pages to relevant directories also helps.

SEO is not only the best way to prepare a site and keep it well maintained, but it keeps a site relevant and up to date, and interesting to its human visitors, a hugely important part of owning and running a website.

You Can Increase Web Traffic with Articles, Duh !

Increase Web Traffic through Articles

Web sites are perfectly designed for people who love to read, browse, and search for a certain topic or subject.

Articles have played a vital role in increasing web traffic in most sites. However, with the numerous articles, people do not actually spend their time reading the whole article. Most of them scan and skim over it.

It has been found out that only sixteen percent of the readers and users read the article for research purposes and resource materials. Only a few people read the articles word for word.

The remaining seventy nine percent of those who search for articles scan it. What they actually do is find interesting topics, paragraphs and sentences to use as resource. They look for good keywords, which can be used to generate other articles.

The real essences of the articles are not appreciated as they are and the worst is that they use it for some purposes. However, this has been the trend especially in generating web traffic.

However, there is an exclusion regarding this matter. Some tests have shown that readers and surfers have mostly viewed most of the articles that have been well written and well researched.

Articles that have average content and form are often viewed for scanning purposes only. These types of articles are not mainly used as a resource.

Most of the average written articles are easy to scan for keywords and are sometimes highlighted in a different color or font.

Now, the question is, how will a reader consider an article informative and readable? What does it take, for an article to be considered important and resourceful?

Here are some useful tips that you might want to consider in writing effective articles and increasing traffic to your site:

Applying sub-headings can be meaningful. Keep in mind that these sub-headings should be more relative and more clever. Making it cute and catchy will drive the reader to read through your article. Keep it enjoyable and strive to get the attention of the readers.

Using bullets is a smart way to attract readers and increase web traffic to your site. Articles with bullets or numbers are a lot more easier to read instead of lengthy paragraphs.

Some of the readers may get bored by just looking at long and wordy articles. So, to make it more readable, keep it short and brief.

It would be more pleasing if you use short and snappy bullets. Do not add twisting statements that will point to nowhere. Readers may not find your article pleasing.

As much as possible, you should try to have one idea of subject for every paragraph that you are writing. Users are looking for a good and readable article, which will keep them hooked on to your articles. Your readers will take more time and interest in reading the whole content of your article.
Your readers may go deep in reading your article if they find striking phrases and sentences at the beginning of each paragraph. Try to come up with phrases that are worthy to be given attention.

Credibility is considered one important key in making your article effective and stunning. Having a good web traffic for your site can be possible if your content stands out among the hundreds and thousands of web sites competing.

We all know that the web service is the ideal way to get information for a specific topic. If your article is good, try enhancing it with the use of graphic designs. It will give a stronger attention and can show proof that your site is of good quality.

Now with all the articles that you have read so far, you might have encountered an article that contains implied promotions concerning their products and services. Most of them will claim that their products and services are top-rated than any other product in the world.

It is up to you to decide whether to boast your services and products or not.

What is important is that you get the attention of your readers and keep them still in reading your articles to get the real thought.

Increasing web traffic will always go for having unique, original articles that are worth your time.
