Starting a New Business in this Economy Can Be a Wonderful Idea if You Follow These Tips

Having your own business and being your own boss is the American dream. When you ask many people, particularly ones from other countries what the American dream is they reply to own your own home, have your own business and have the freedom to do those things. Some small businesses have thrived over generations successfully as others do not do as well after only a couple of months. What are the successful ones doing that the others that fail are not?
Several Americans have lost their jobs because of the downturn in the economy, many people are considering starting their own business but are not certain this is the best time to do it or not. This article will discuss all of the things to think about to be successful as a small business owner such as having the best location for your place, to getting the best equipment for your store like using digital scales and high quality price computing scales for your new deli.
A wonderful example of a successful small business that has not only lasted over the years but continues to grow and succeed is Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ. It opened its doors in 1910 as a traditional Italian bakery and is now being operated by the fourth generation of this family. Each generation has taught the younger generation the techniques to be a master baker and cake decorator. Their location has succeeded over the years which is fortunate.
Location is a huge factor of being successful with your business, especially in the food business. If your location is not appealing to the demographic you are trying to appeal to, it will not succeed. Carlo’s bakery is in the heart of an area of New Jersey that has a huge Italian population so they continue to go there to get what Italian desserts they are used to. The current owner, Buddy has maintained the old traditions but has also been up to date by marketing his business through his website, and has a television show on the Food Network.
Another example is the small town of Milford, Oh recently opened up an upscale restaurant and wine bar. A high failure rate for shops and restaurants on this particular street are common and several restaurants have failed here. There was a need for a finer restaurant that appealed to the wealthier towns that surrounded Milford. It has been a huge success from the first day.
Maintaining your original business model while at the same time keeping it current is a key to be successful as a small business owner too.
A great suggestion prior to opening up your small food business should be to determine the optimal location that is available and then walk that neighborhood and talk to the people that reside in that area. Would they be interested in a new deli, for example or find out what type of business or restaurant would they want to have in that particular location. This can provide you with a great idea of what is wanted in that community and how successful it may be.

Beginner’s Guide to Website Marketing. Useful Facts to Take Into Consideration

Online Marketing is one of the most difficult parts about being a webmaster. I wrote this to help those new to the online world understand some basic misconceptions that are normal for new webmasters and hopefully point them in the right direction in their website marketing campaign. In today’s online world with the millions of people every day fighting over every bit of traffic they get; it is easy to see why 97% of websites and blogs fail. First don’t be scared even though according to google the number of unique URL’s has passed 1 trillion it is still possible to succeed if you have the right mind set and are willing to work harder than your competition.
First let’s dispose of a couple myths portrayed by the media and ignorance of a newbie webmaster. 1st to make money online all you need to do is create a web presence through either a blog or website and visitors will come. Let me restate the fact that there is now over a trillion unique URL’s; what this means for you is every visitor you receive will be from you working harder than the next guy on your marketing campaign which should include building backlinks (hyperlinks of your domain on a website other than your own) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization). You will be in a constant battle with not only your competitors, but also Google and other major search engines always trying to be higher and better than the rest of the websites in your niche (category of website or blog you construct such as business, marketing, and personal). 2nd myth is when marketing online you will see the pay offs of your efforts instantly. This is the reason 97% percent of people attempting to start making money online fail in their endeavors they work and work without realizing it takes a minimum of 6 months to become established and usually 1-2 years before they will begin to see a true monetary pay off for their online efforts. I hate to say it, but working online will be much harder than a regular 9-5 job since it is constantly changing and the competition is ever increasing. Now we have covered the bad news of starting an online endeavor let’s move on to the good parts of working online as I do currently.
The greatest thing about working online is there are not a set number of hours you have to work during the week. Let say I want to take a vacation to Florida; rather than putting in a leave request and waiting to see if it is approved I pack my lap top and take off for a couple of weeks checking on my website and adsense account each night from my hotel room. A lot of people confuse this with working less; trust me I put in more hours a week than the average individual. The reason I made it online was because I love being online, if you cannot imagine yourself being online for 10-12 hours daily attempting to work online full time probably should not be one of your goals. I love what I do and have a hard time sleeping without thinking of the next marketing system I am going to implement and what the effects will be on my Google SERPs (the page after a person types in a search query into Google) position. You may ask yourself how much money can I make? Thousands? Millions? Well it really depends, I have been online for a year now and usually take home a couple thousand a month. The best thing about working online is the marketing efforts that you put in the begging of your campaign will usually take six months to a year before you begin to feel the affect of your efforts. Each month my website and blogs do a little better which in turn makes me work a little harder. For you new online marketers if you are not willing to spend 6 months penniless and work hard each day promoting your site you will probably be one of the ones that make it as a full time webmaster or blogger.
For conclusion I would like to go over what a new webmaster should be doing when they first get online. The first step is to get on Digital Point Forums which you can find through a Google search. These forums I am on daily and will keep you up to date will all the newest search engine updates as well as all of the old and any new marketing techniques being used. I have also generated a lot of new friends online from these forums which help in my marketing campaign because we all market together. A new webmaster should also be concerned with becoming indexed with Google which you can do by submitting your website to www.digg.com or your blog to http://technorati.com. Also if your new you should constantly be building backlinks to your website by placing the link in directories, social bookmarking sites, writing articles, and writing press releases.

Description:
The Startup Rebel Adsense Blueprint is a guide to creating a high-traffic website that can earn income through Adsense and other methods. The guide focuses on helping those without any marketing or online expertise put together a large authority website and maintain it as a valuable asset for their business.
It includes:
- A case study of a company that created a website that was later purchased for $410 million. Jarod analyzes how the company was able to do it by looking at the brand they created, the content they published, the website’s traffic, revenue and their source of labor.
- “The Godfather Strategy” explains a unique and specific plan for building a strong authoritative website without having to write articles, learn search engine optimization, etc. It shows how to keep your focus on strategic planning and development, while others tend to other daily detail.
- 7 important components, broken down into action steps for implementing the “Godfather Strategy” starting from developing your idea, your brand, assembling your team and other key ingredients.
Thoughts:
This guide definitely provides some food for thought in building a large and profitable authority site without huge out-of-pocket expense and without working oneself to the bone. People who use this method should be prepared for some hard work in establishing relationships and building an effective team, but the ideas in this guide are solid.
Also useful are the tips for avoiding pitfalls of partnerships and ensuring equitable revenue shares. This is what makes it possible to limit your startup costs and still make it all worthwhile for your team.
Another thing Jarod talks about is the all-important exit strategy and why you need to have one from the very beginning to help ensure your website is a valuable asset. This is something many business / website owners don’t think about. Having this plan from the outset makes it is easier to manage and eventually sell your virtual property.
